Privacy policy

PlacedCV is operated by [Your company name] ("we"). This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

What we collect

• Account data: your email address.
• Your resume file and the text in it, and the job descriptions you paste.
• Your answers to the short questions in the check flow.
• Your reports, generated resumes, credit balance and order history.
• Payment status from our payment partner. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details — the payment partner (merchant of record) processes them.
• Basic usage events (for example: analysis completed, payment completed) to improve the product.

Why we use it

We process your data only to provide the service you ask for: to analyse your resume against a job, rewrite it when you use a credit, keep your history, process payments and refunds, prevent abuse and answer support requests. We rely on your consent, which you give before your first analysis.

AI processing

Your resume and job description are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API) to produce your report and resume. They are used only to generate your result, not to advertise to you.

Who processes your data for us

• Supabase — database, login and file storage.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Anthropic — AI analysis and rewriting.
• Our payment partner (Dodo Payments) — payments, GST invoices and refunds.
• Google Analytics and Meta, only if analytics are enabled — anonymous usage statistics.

Some of these providers store data outside India.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded resume files: deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Reports, generated resumes and account data: until you delete your account.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights. You can delete your account and all your data at any time from your dashboard ("Delete my account and data"). Withdrawing consent stops future processing; it does not affect processing already done.

Children

The service is meant for people aged 18 and above.

Security

Files are stored privately and are visible only to your account. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to what is needed to run the service.

Grievance officer & contact

For any request or complaint about your data, write to support@placedcv.in. We reply within 7 days. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
